STORAGE TIPS AND TRICKS
Our bagels have no preservatives, which means you’ll enjoy them more if you follow these storage tips:
STORING FOR UP TO FIVE DAYS:
When your bagels have cooled, place them in a plastic bag. (Plastic storage bags are available free of charge from the Bagelshop.) Remove as much air as possible from the bag, then seal with a twist tie. Your bagels will last for up to five days.
STORING BAGELS FOR LONGER PERIODS:
If you’d like your bagels to last longer, we suggest freezing them. As they have no salt and dairy products, they freeze extremely well. When your bagels have cooled, place them in a plastic bag. Remove as much air as possible from the bag, then seal it. Your bagels will last for up to three months in the freezer. Many of our customers who live out of town enjoy frozen bagels after weeks and months of storage in the freezer.
TIPS:
Before freezing, you can pre-slice your bagels. Your frozen bagels will easily fit into the toaster.
Bagels are great when they’re warm. Heat fresh or frozen in a toaster oven at 325 F, for two to four minutes.
Bagels are great with cream cheese, jam, paté, or even chocolate spread. They’re heavenly with smoked salmon or cold cuts.
WARNING: Using a Microwave may be hazardous to your bagels! Our bagels are “water based bagels,” and as such, should not be microwaved. The microwave will dehydrate the bagels. A toaster, toaster oven, or convection oven should be used to warm your bagels.
